Fans of “Blue Exorcist” have reason to celebrate as the anime is set to return with the “Shimane Illuminati Saga” in 2024. The series had concluded its previous anime run over a decade ago, and this new announcement has been eagerly awaited by fans. The latest installment of “Blue Exorcist” will adapt volumes 10 through 15 of Kazue Kato’s original manga series.
During the Aniplex Online Fest 2023, it was revealed that the new anime, titled “Blue Exorcist – Shimane Illuminati Saga,” would feature a returning cast and be produced by Studio VOLN. A new trailer and poster have been released in anticipation of the series premiere in January 2024.
“Blue Exorcist – Shimane Illuminati Saga” will be directed by Daisuke Yoshida and will continue the story from the previous seasons. Toshiya Ohno will handle the series composition, Yurie Daito will oversee character designs, and Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano will compose the music.
The Shimane Illuminati arc is the sixth major arc in the “Blue Exorcist” manga and follows the events of the Kyoto Impure King arc. It spans chapters 50 through 64 of the manga. Fans looking to catch up on the source material can access these chapters and more through Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library.
The return of “Blue Exorcist” in 2024 is sure to excite fans who have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the series.
