Apple announced a price increase for all iPhone models older than the iPhone 14 when their batteries are replaced outside of warranty. They are also increasing prices for replacement iPad and Mac batteries.
Beginning March 1, 2023, Apple estimates that the price of non-warranty iPhone battery replacements will increase by $20. This is according to a calculator on the company’s website that was posted by Apple. Currently, battery replacements cost $69 on average. However, pricing can vary by iPhone model.
For instance, replacement batteries for older iPhone models are more expensive than those for newer models.
AppleCare+ includes a battery replacement option at no cost when the battery’s health falls below 80%. This only applies to AppleCare customers; non-AppleCare customers continue to pay the same amount for repairs as before.
Apple is increasing the cost of out-of-warranty battery replacements for both the iPad and Mac. $30 more will be charged for battery replacements on a MacBook Air, and $50 more will be charged for battery replacements on a MacBook Pro. Beginning on March 1, 2023, the cost of new iPad models will increase by $20. This was determined by conducting further research and analysis.
