Lord Rothermere will become the chief executive of the Daily Mail group after taking the writer personal in December.
Paul Zwillenberg can be stepping down as chief executive of the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) after a six-year tenure that noticed the group take over the i newspaper and New Scientist journal.

Lord Rothermere mentioned yesterday that the writer was now ‘master of our own destiny’.
Thanking Zwillenberg, he advised workers: ‘I am immensely grateful to Paul for everything that he has done over the past six-and-a-half years.’
Zwillenberg, who can be a senior adviser, mentioned it was the best privilege of his profession to work with Lord Rothermere whereas stewarding DMGT at an necessary time.
