Marks & Spencer has employed an ex-Tesco executive to go up its meals arm. 

Alex Freudmann – who’s managing director of Australian beer, wine and spirits retailer Dan Murphy’s – will tackle the function of managing director of the High Street retailer’s meals business on November 1. 

He will turn into a part of M&S’s executive committee.
