Damar Hamlin was not only brought back to life on the field during Monday Night Football but also as he arrived at the hospital, according to his uncle, who says the Bills safety’s heart stopped a second time upon arrival.
Fortunately, medical personnel were able to once again restart his heart.
Tuesday, Hamlin’s uncle, Dorrian Glenn, spoke to CNN outside the Cincinnati hospital, where he provided an update on his 24-year-old nephew.

Glenn stated that Hamlin is now using 50% of a ventilator, a significant improvement from the beginning of his hospitalisation.
Hamlin’s uncle stated that the former Pittsburgh Panther suffered lung damage, but remained hopeful that he would be able to breathe on his own.
Glenn also talked about how scary it was for the family to watch their loved one pass out on the field in Cincinnati before CPR was done for about 10 minutes.
“We are all in tears,” Glenn continued. “I’m not a cryer, but I’ve never cried so hard in my entire life.” Simply knowing that my nephew essentially died on the battlefield and was then brought back to life is heartbreaking. “Man, it was like a gut punch to see so many grown men crying and overcome with emotion.”
“I would have cried regardless of who it was, but the fact that it was my nephew made it that much more significant,” he said. “I’m just thankful he’s still alive and able to fight and try to get better.”
Additionally, Dorrian stated that doctors have placed a tube on his abdomen in an effort to alleviate pressure on his lungs.
“I just want to express my gratitude to the medical staff who were present,” Glenn continued, “because if it weren’t for them, my nephew probably wouldn’t even be alive.”
