Kell Brooke has issued an apology on social media for a video showing him inhaling white powder at his home in Sheffield. The former world champion was filmed inhaling the powder using a scroll on a glass table at his home in Sheffield, according to footage shared by The Sun.

After rising from the powder-covered table, he exclaimed “beautiful” to the camera before performing Tai Chi. His agent, Terry Thompson, insisted on Friday that the video was a joke. Brooke, who retired after defeating longtime rival Aamir Khan approximately one year ago, has apologised for the video and disclosed he is “seeking help to get back on track.”

As you all are aware, I’ve struggled with my mental health and found retirement to be extremely difficult. I actively seek the assistance I need to get back on track. I apologise again for the pain I caused. The retired boxer wrote, “I messed up, and I raised my hands to apologise to my gym’s friends and fans.”

The act reportedly took place in front of a portrait of the 36-year-old, who won his third world championship in 2014. According to The Sun, his wife Lindsay and their three children reportedly left during “Special K” “to have a little party.”

In 2012, his opponent, Amir Khan, claimed on Twitter that Brooke had a history of cocaine abuse. Although he retired after his bout with Khan, he has recently indicated he may return to the sport. Sky Sports reported last month that, following his victory over Chris Eubank Jr., Brook desired to face Liam Smith.

After the video went viral, Thompson, Brooks’ manager, said, “It’s kind of out of control.” They were at his residence and laughing. They make light of things. He said, “Shoot me giggles.” Thompson then denied that the white powder contained cocaine.
