After a person was discovered dead from a gunshot wound inside an SUV during the evening rush on Tuesday in Southeast D.C., there was a significant police presence in the area around the Navy Yard Metro station.
The victim of the shooting was discovered in the 100 block of M Street SE around 5:30 p.m., according to the police. It is unknown how they are doing, and it is not clear exactly where the shots were fired at them.
The incident was captured on video, and it showed a white SUV with a window that had been shattered. Police had cordoned off the area outside of one of the Metro station entrances, and they appeared to be speaking to witnesses.
There was no additional information that could be obtained at this time.
