Kevin Durant is almost ready to make his highly anticipated debut with the Phoenix Suns. And his new teammates are eager to participate.

ESPN says that Durant took part in the Suns’ first official team activity after the All-Star break, which was a two-hour workout and scrimmage on Thursday. And while he will not make his debut against Oklahoma City on Friday, he demonstrated enough during the workout to be expected to make his debut during the four-game road trip that begins Sunday in Milwaukee.

The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Durant’s target return date is March 1 in Charlotte.

Durant said this about when he would be back: “I will follow the training staff and follow the schedule they give me.””Hopefully soon after the intermission.”

On February 9, the Suns acquired Durant from the Brooklyn Nets. The 34-year-old has won two NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors, was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2013-14, and has appeared in 13 All-Star games. Since last playing on January 8, he has been sidelined due to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Durant is averaging 29.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 39 games this season. He has averaged 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists throughout his NBA career with the Seattle SuperSonics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State, and Brooklyn.

Durant left his new teammates eagerly anticipating his debut on Thursday after a practise that was reportedly the longest of the season and included on-court officials.

“It’s difficult to describe,” said Devin Booker about playing with Kevin Durant. I eagerly anticipate competing against other teams.
