Liz Truss has admitted that there aren’t any trade talks happening with the US as she braces for her first talks with Joe Biden.

The PM is in New York for the UN common meeting, and can meet the US president tomorrow.

But talking to journalists en route she conceded that there’s little signal of progress on the post-Brexit trade pact desired by the federal government.   

Ms Truss stated there are at the moment no negotiations happening to thrash out an settlement.
