According to her close friend Octavia Spencer, Sonya Eddy, best known for her work on “General Hospital,” has died.
On Tuesday, she shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, informing the world that her friend had died the night before. “The world has lost another creative angel,” she says. Her “army” of fans will truly miss her, she says. Her death was due to an unknown cause.
From 2006 to 2013, Sonya was a regular on “General Hospital,” appearing in 543 episodes of the long-running soap opera. Fans adore her portrayal of Epiphany Johnson, a stern head nurse who was the mother of the late Stan Johnson, who became involved in organized crime.
Sonya has been in the entertainment business for a long time. She started on The Drew Carey Show in 1995 and has since been on Seinfeld, Patch Adams, Reba, Monk, Joan of Arcadia, CSI, Glee, Castle, and Fresh Off the Boat.
