Police found out that Steven Peeples, 39, was shot and killed early Sunday morning in North Philadelphia.

Around 1:40 a.m., investigators and a family member discovered Peeples lying in the living room of his home in the 1300 block of West Lippincott Street. He was shot twice in the head and once in the stomach.

Peeples was taken to Temple University Hospital and died shortly before 2 a.m. There has yet to be any word on a suspect or a motive for the murder.

Nancy has two sons, Steven N. Peeples and wife Patti of Mount Vernon, and Scott A. Peeples and wife Beth of Fultz, Illinois, in addition to her beloved husband. Lucas Peeples and his wife Brittany, Alexander Peeples, Gary Peeples and his wife Rachel, Jared Warren, Amanda Barnett and her husband Jeff, and Nick Warren and his wife Amy are his grandchildren. Among his great-grandchildren are Penelope Peeples, Heidi Peeples, Howard Peeples, James Peeples, Ashtyn Warren, Aryka Warren, Spencer Barnett, and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her older brother, Neil “Bud” Williams, her sister, Sue Williams, and her nephew, Neil Eddie Williams III.

Nancy taught in District 80 for many years. She attends Logan Street Baptist Church on a regular basis. Nancy was adored and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., there will be a visitation at Huey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Reverend Merle Fullerton will officiate at the funeral service, which will begin at 12:00 p.m. Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois, will hold funeral services.
