Brett Maher cannot catch a break … even the governor of Texas jumped in to pile on the Dallas Cowboys kicker after he missed yet one more PAT on Sunday evening.
Greg Abbott‘s trolling got here simply minutes after Maher had his second quarter level after try blocked in Dallas’ playoff recreation in opposition to the San Francisco 49ers.
I swear, I can kick nearly as good because the Dallas Cowboys kicker.

“I swear,” Abbott tweeted. “I can kick nearly as good because the Dallas Cowboys kicker.”
Of course, Abbott is paralyzed from the waist down … after he sustained important accidents when an oak tree fell on him throughout a morning jog in 1984.
The missed PAT was Maher’s fifth in his final two video games — keep in mind, the 33-year-old whiffed on 4 further level makes an attempt in opposition to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers within the Cowboys’ Wild Card Round win.
To his credit score, Maher did come again to make two discipline objectives within the recreation … hitting a 25-yarder within the third quarter and a 43-yarder within the fourth. Abbott did not care to touch upon these.
The kicks, although, finally weren’t sufficient to get Dallas a win … they dropped the sport, 19-12.
It’s now shaping as much as be a protracted offseason for the Cowboys — one by which they’re going to have to resolve if Maher will likely be their kicker going ahead.
