B.C. police officer charged with two counts of assault related to 2020 arrest

VICTORIA – The BC Prosecution Service has authorized two costs in opposition to an Abbotsford police officer in connection with an arrest he made greater than two years in the past.

The service says in a news launch that Const. Shaun Nagel has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault inflicting bodily hurt.

The service says the fees had been made in relation to a suspect’s arrest in West Vancouver on Feb. 26, 2020.

It didn’t present every other particulars as a result of Nagel’s case is earlier than the courts.

It says the fees had been authorized by an “experienced Crown counsel with no prior or current connection with the officer.”

Nagel’s first courtroom look is scheduled for Aug. 3 in North Vancouver Provincial Court.
