A Good Samaritan who stepped in to help an aged woman who was dragged out of a cab and robbed by the driving force recalled the assault. The sufferer stays fearful, as her attacker nonetheless hasn’t been arrested.
Catherine Shine, 78, from Brooklyn was seen in a viral video being pulled out of a cab by her leg and thrown onto the road on Wednesday afternoon. Shine was taking an Access-A-Ride cab to bodily remedy when her driver, Mohamed Ahmed Elsakran, went previous her vacation spot and refused to let her out of the automotive.
Elsakran then jumped out of the automotive, opened Shine’s door and dragged her out by the leg. The 78-year-old fought again along with her cane.
Ezra Shalawani, 35, filmed the assault on the streets of Brooklyn positioned on East 35 Street close to the nook of Avenue N in Marine Park. He intervened after he noticed the aged woman on the ground beating the driving force along with her cane.
‘I was taking a walk outside my office and saw someone pull someone else out of the vehicle, so I pulled my phone out and started recording, and as soon as I hit that record button I saw an elderly woman hit a man with a cane,’ Shalawani told DailyMail.com.
Shalawani suffered a minor injury after attempting to stop the fleeing cab driver. He is seen in the video wearing a sling.

Shine noticed on her Wednesday cab drive that the driver was past her stop. She demanded him to stop when the altercation occurred
The good Samaritan quickly intervened as Shine screamed the driver had stolen her phone.
Shalawani insisted that Elsakran give the phone back. The cab driver then apparently noticed he was being filmed and promptly returned the phone.
‘That’s when his jaw dropped, and he handed me the cellphone very politely as if he didn’t simply throw a woman out of the automobile a few seconds earlier,’ Shalawani recalled.
The good Samaritan then made his manner to the entrance of the automotive in an effort to halt the person from escaping earlier than police arrived.
‘He turned left and I ended up on his hood and then on the ground,’ he mentioned. ‘Luckily I was able to get up pretty quick.
‘I went to the woman and asked how she was doing. She, unfortunately, wasn’t ready to rise up for about 30 seconds to a minute simply attempting to compose herself and collect the whole lot.’
Shortly after, one other bystander on a bike handed by and helped take the sufferer to the hospital together with Shalawani who suffered an arm sprain.
