Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a deadly crash in an upmarket central London square left an elderly woman lifeless.

The woman, aged in her 70s, was a passenger in a Renault Modus when it crashed throughout rush hour on August 9.

She was rushed to hospital by paramedics following the incident, however later died on 20 August, police stated.

The driver reportedly ploughed into the row of stationary vehicles simply earlier than 9am in upmarket Connaught Square, close to Marble Arch.

A spokesman from the power stated: ‘Police had been referred to as at 8:55am on Tuesday, August 9 to experiences of a collision involving a Renault Modus and a lot of stationary autos in Connaught Square, W2.

‘A woman, aged in her 70s, who was a passenger in the Renault, was taken to hospital. Sadly, regardless of the efforts of medical employees, she died on Saturday, August 20. Her subsequent of kin have been knowledgeable.

‘Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to determine the circumstances of the collision and want to hear from any witnesses, who they haven’t but spoken to, or anybody who captured it on sprint cam.’
