Woman in her 80s hospitalised for head harm after Belfast theft

A girl in her eighties has been hospitalised after a robber pressured her to the bottom in Belfast metropolis centre on Thursday morning.

olice say the girl hit her head on a black steel bollard in Great Victoria Street when a person pulled her to the bottom whereas making an attempt to steal her bag.

Her accidents should not believed to be life-threatening.

Sergeant Matt Boucher mentioned: “It was reported round 10:25pm, that minutes earlier, a lady, aged in her eighties, had been strolling down the road when an unknown male ran previous her and tried to drag her purse out of her arms.

“The sufferer held on to her bag earlier than the suspect forcefully pulled her to the bottom, inflicting her to hit her head on a black steel bollard. She was taken to hospital for therapy to critical accidents which, fortunately, should not believed to be life-threatening right now.”

The suspect is reported to have ran off alongside Great Victoria Street within the path of the town centre, described as being roughly 5’10.

He was carrying a darkish navy jacket with a blue higher panel and hood, darkish tracksuit bottoms and gray trainers.

Sgt Boucher added: “This was a terrifying expertise for the sufferer, who sustained a critical head harm consequently.
